In the week of July 18-22, 2022, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated ten contravention cases. Eight cases were initiated for the non-submission of declarations of assets and personal interests regarding seven councilors and a public official with special status, and two other cases each concern a conflict of interest, which were not resolved within the deadline by a mayor and a kindergarten director.

Also, the integrity inspectors drew up four minutes regarding the contravention, applying fines in the total amount of over 8000 lei. Therefore, two councilors were fined each for the late submission and failure to submit declarations of assets and personal interests, respectively, and a mayor and a middle school director were penalized for non-declaration and failure to resolve conflicts of interest.

During the period in question, two new violations of the legal regime of conflicts of interest, committed by a mayor and a kindergarten director, were found. At the same time, two control procedures were initiated in which one public official is targeted, one on the legal regime of property and the other on the legal regime of incompatibilities.

ANI representatives offered 59 telephone consultations, including 17 calls were recorded at the Institutional Line.

The legal department of ANI participated in ten court hearings to defend the findings.

ANI resolved a conflict of interest and issued three Certificates of Integrity.
