WEEKLY SUMMARY OF ANI: fines of 12 thousand lei were applied and nine contravention cases initiated
In the week of July 11-15, 2022, the National Integrity Authority (ANI) initiated nine contravention cases targeting a former civil servant with special status, a mayor, five councilors and a director of a house of culture. The contravention cases were initiated for non-submission of declaration of assets and personal interests and not declaring conflicts of interest.
Regarding other four subjects of the declaration, fines were imposed in the total amount of 12 thousand lei, after it was established that a director of a state-owned enterprise in a district, a principal of a middle school, a former village councilor late submitted declarations of assets and personal interests. A district councilor did not declare or resolve a conflict of interest.
The integrity inspectors issued four acts of finding, of which in two cases were established violations of the legal regime of assets and personal interests and of conflicts of interest. In the first case, an anti-corruption prosecutor is targeted who declared property in inappropriate manner, and in the second case, a village mayor was established with a conflict of interest.
During that period, a procedure of reviewing the legal regime of conflicts of interest was initiated regarding a former administrator of a district organization.
The Legal Department participated in eight court hearings to defend the acts of finding. ANI issued five Certificates of Integrity.
ANI representatives provided 42 telephone consultations, including 15 calls were registered to the Institutional Line. Two more training sessions were organized for 62 employees of the National Auto Transport Agency (ANTA).
NOTE: at the moment, the Integrity Inspectorate operates within: 113 cases of control of property, 13 control procedures on conflicts of interest, six on incompatibilities and one on the legal regime of restrictions.
